Melanie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with seventeen years experience working with individuals, couples and teens who have a variety of complex therapeutic issues.

Melanie uses the following therapeutic approaches: Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman Couples Method, Adlerian and Satir Transformational Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.Melanie particularly enjoys working with teens and young adults, as well as couples. Melanie joined the practice of Bonnie Mason and Associates in 2012, where she takes a client-centered approach and uses a variety of therapeutic tools. She previously worked in private practice and with Sources (non profit organization), where she worked on the Addictions Counselling team, as well as the fee-for-service team. She has experience facilitating groups on substance abuse, back to work transitions and parenting and she is an approved provider for the Crime Victim Assistance program.

UPDATE REGARDING IN PERSON SESSIONS- As of April 1st, counselling sessions will be a mix of in person and Zoom. IN PERSON sessions will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays and Zoom on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. If you currently have a Zoom session scheduled and would like to attend in person, please book on a Wednesday or Thursday and contact Melanie if you need assistance with this.
